1. Informational use only
Jaini is an informational tool that provides dietary guidance based on publicly available product and ingredient data. It is intended to help users make more informed decisions, not to serve as a definitive authority on whether a product is permissible under any specific Jain practice or tradition.
2. Not medical, nutritional, or religious advice
Nothing in Jaini constitutes medical advice, nutritional advice, or religious advice. Jain dietary practices vary across communities, lineages, and individual interpretations. Jaini's classifications reflect a general heuristic, not a ruling from any religious authority. Consult a knowledgeable person within your tradition for religious guidance.
3. No guarantee of accuracy or completeness
Jaini relies on third-party product databases. These databases may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. Ingredient data for a product may be missing, wrong, or based on an older version of a product's formulation. Jaini cannot guarantee that its results are accurate or complete for any specific product.
4. Ingredients and formulations change
Product recipes, ingredient suppliers, and manufacturing processes change frequently. A product that was previously assessed as "Likely Jain-friendly" may later contain new ingredients. Always read the current physical product label before consuming a product.
5. Always verify labels directly
Jaini results should supplement, not replace, your own review of the product label. If you have a dietary restriction or allergy, always read the packaging label and contact the manufacturer if you are uncertain.
6. No certification
Jaini does not certify products. The labels "Likely Jain-friendly" or any similar phrasing do not constitute certification, endorsement, or approval by any religious body, certification organisation, or Jaini itself. These labels indicate only what the available ingredient data suggests.
7. Third-party data sources
Product data used by Jaini is sourced from publicly available food databases including Open Food Facts, USDA FoodData Central, and other sources. Jaini is not responsible for the accuracy of data provided by third parties.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Jaini and its operators disclaim all liability for any harm, loss, or damages arising from use of the service, including but not limited to reliance on any classification, verdict, or ingredient analysis provided by Jaini.
9. Mode-specific classifications
Jaini's verdict depends on which mode (Everyday Jain, Temple Mode, Paryushan Mode, or Greens+) is selected. The same product may receive different classifications under different modes. Switching modes reflects different community standards, not different facts about the product.
10. Contact for corrections
If you believe a product has been incorrectly classified, you can report it using the "Report incorrect classification" button on the result screen, or email us at hello@swapncore.com. We appreciate corrections and will review them.
